I could possibly look into how custom content is made for Smash 64.
I assume it's pretty complicated, as most N64 editing tools have GUIs that look like they came from '96, and are generally annoying to setup and get stuff working.

@Deep Weeb I found a video showing Bomberman and Falco hacked in-game (Skip to 0:49 for the fight scene):
So I guess it is possible to hack a character in SSB64...
