No more having to split UV maps when diffuse, normal and/or specular use different UV mapping or now have to have models for both?

It's been decided that we should start including models with merged UV Maps in Breath of the Wild submissions, woo! Gotta update my old uploads, but future rips from me will definitely have both of 'em – split and unsplit.

@Centrixe: I stumbled my way around with Switch Toolbox tell I found what I was looking for LOL. I was not able to make any since of the faces as it felt like I was missing parts so I just found one that fit the body and did a head swap.

It would be nice to have the Mii NPCs assembled but just having them in parts could be useful to others too.

@AJD-262: If I remember correctly, I had to find the ID file specific to a Mii Hylian and determine what each value represented (hair, body, face, etc.) My example was actually a quick mockup of Karson – my favourite Mii. :P

I'm still figuring out how to go about with the facial positioning and scaling, as well as utilising more than one skin detail at once since characters like Karson have multiple. I'd vastly prefer not to upload the Hylian stuff separately in favour of having each person "pre-built" instead, but, I may eventually do so for the sake of finally having 'em on here.

So I got switch toolbox, and ripped ganon. But I cant find all of the models in the /model/ folder. Is there another folder with models in it?

there is every single texture but almost no models

@zedex200 using Switch Toolbox. You can use it to convert to DAE which you can then convert to OBJ, FBX, etc. using another program like Blender.

@Desmoon12 1st of all make sure it's an obj, if not watch a youtube video on how to convert blend, dae or fbx files to obj, then click "Add New Model".

@Weirdkid_12 That is exactly what it is. Since there are various issues with how common model formats handle more than one UV map, the UV maps have been separated for maximum accessibility. You can easily re-combine the UV maps back onto one mesh since the mesh structures are identical.

Okay, I'm not the most knowledgeable person on this subject, but I'm 90% sure link's "layer 2" face and head meshes are actually just second uv maps put onto separate models. It would make no sense for nintendo to complicate their model like this. If this is an error of the upload rather than a part of the model, I'd like to know. Thanks in advance.

@Centrixe, Cool! Will there be a place to read about it? Not much luck on Google so far...

I've never thought that trying to export from Blender to dae/fbx would be my biggest problem, I have all models from Fallout 4, Oblivion, Skyrim, Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2, but how much I try, I can not export to dae then import again without getting a mess (Materials mostly, is it better to upload objects without special materials or not upload them at all?).

Update on the Hylians: I figured out how to calculate which parts each Mii-based NPC uses and can practically "build" these characters now.

Still, the parts themselves are complicated — more so than any other avatar model I've ripped. Time will tell!

Aah, I get it now, thank you! So... for the wolf, I'll just transfer the UV map from the "Layer 2 object" to "Mt_Body". Then in the material section use the layer 2 UV map for the spec/normal map texture node, and it worked! (Using Blender with Eevee/Cycles render)
I noticed some loose vertices in the Wolf/Cucco meshes, are they used in some way or can they be removed? (I removed them, saved a copy, didn't notice any changes) Also, wish I could have a look at the Fox model to see what is going on... Still good stuff! :D

Uploaded Cotera, Kaysa, Tera, Purah, & the Wolf! Some spec and normal maps use an additional UV map which I had to split into separate meshes. Prince Sidon, Fox, & Sparrow currently aren't possible to fix.

Now that the pending queue is empty, does that mean that the models are being checked or that they have been checked and that the models that did not appear in the update failed? I can see the Sheikah Slate made it in this update, but I don't see the Fox/Wolf, did they fail? Anyway, Thank you all for uploading, being able to see how to people have made these game resources sure cut down on my 3D modelling learning curve!

Was hoping to find a model of the guardian scout from the shrines. Anyone know of a place where I can find one? I don't have the right tools or knowledge or I would rip it myself.
