It's probably not laziness. There's not that much point when you barely even see the tie most of the time.

Wouldn't surprise me if it were simply developer laziness in this case. Or just lack of necessity given screen size again....

I wonder why his tie is connected to his body as a texture, could the DS really not handle a few more polygons?
