Huh that's really interesting, I guess i'll have to add that to my collection of scrapped lore.
Also alongside the Conductor, the Nomads also have gradient maps

actually the reason he's like that is because originally there was multiple conductors and they all had unique colors, there was a red one, a white one and a green one alongside the yellow one we all know and love, however when they changed the plot there was no room for the other conductors anymore so the other colors went scrapped

I think there is a texture that tells the game what part of the model to color and the colors are on the gradient map idk, might be wrong be hat kid uses it and has a gradient map too

I wonder if The Conductor was always white and the in-game lighting makes him look yellow, but that's pretty stupid of me to assume when there are always owls near him with perfectly fine white eyes.

Moon version? but the conductor never appears on the moon and iv scrolled through a hat in times assets more than I would like to admit and iv have not seen a white version of the conductors texture
