I'm way late, but yes, GO does use the same models as the 3DS games. Same with the Switch games, aside from some minor changes and obviously much higher-res textures. The models were made specifically to work beyond the 3DS, so they're actually pretty detailed.

Every time I've been using this website (which has been a looot, especially for reference models) I've been looking at the "Recently Uploaded Models" list and ooh boy, there were times there where I'd look, see one long list of stuff. Then just a few moments later I'd look again and there's a whole new list of stuff. You have been on a roll! And thank you for your help with the customs too - there's certain stuff I need to get better at *cough* rigging *cough* texturing and your advice/feedbacks has been way helpful. This model has more polygons than the Super model.
This model I ripped is the high-poly model used in cutscenes.
This one has around 5,954 triangles, and the textures are very different.
The one in Super has around 972 triangles.
They pretty much upgraded the model to be more rounder in some areas.
Just look at the wings for example, some areas on the wings are rounder.
