They indeed are. This is because Rumbles prototype was being made while crash 4 was also in a prototyping phase. Rumble was (according to a QA member) meant to be a multiplayer mode for crash 4. Rumbles production was paused due to Toys for bob being busy with assisting Call of Duty. If one looks into the Game Files they can find prototype files that were originally meant for Rumble and imported into crash 4s project to have a base to work with. Alot of Datatables that are found in Rumbles PS4 Build are thus also found in all versions of crash 4. Toys for Bob utilisizes Unreal Engine Plugins to basically "plug and play" game functionality and content in and out of the project. The steam build ,which was released shoprtly before Rumbles anouncement, features Plugins that contained code names for Rumble characters and tags like "start match" or "team color orange", "Team color Blue" and plugins that had descriptions describing net code and a combat plugin to make the combat system work in online multiplayer. Which was indicating that rumble was at some point being worked on again. If it was gonna be revealed was unclear but it was probably happening because toys for bob teased its anouncement with the steam creator package with a "pricing" for the pizza box that contained mousepads for crash 4s steam release. This was meant to be interpreted as the game awards starting date 08.12.2022.

Weren't these the same placeholder models for Crash Team Rumble? Or at least pretty similar. Eh who cares they're just blocky placeholder designs anyway.
