@zedex200 First you open the .bin.gz file in Switch toolbox and export the textures and the raw Model_0.g1m file, and then you open the Model_0.g1m file in Noesis using plugins.

How do I rip the .bin.Gz files and get the models? Cause toolbox won't work

@Doc von Schmeltwick
I second that, good sir.

@Prentis Clearly not here. Honestly, the "where's the (x)" comments are the most obnoxious type of request comments, because they demonstrate a lack of attention on TWO fronts. Also, pretty sure it's just a scaled-up normal Cucco model anyways, so any chicken model could work as a substitute.

Where's the Giant Cucco?

@Doc von Schmeltwick
Not exactly, Zelda BOTW is technically "Canon", it's just that Nintendo is classing it as a reboot so therefore it's the start of a new timeline altogether.
However, games like this 1 are entirely non-canon because they are spin-offs which by nature are non-canon.

@dlfon99 Miyamoto and the rest of Nintendo actually seem to be trying to disestablish the concept of a "canon" for this series, which would leave this basically as equal to the rest. This was pretty much a last romp for that idea before BotW seemingly completely threw it out the window.

I think it's sad that the best design of Ganon is entirely non-canon.

I got the models, just need to find a program to open .gz files, and Noesis is not working for me.

Update: Nevermind, got an easier method to port them.

@ThatTrueStruggle Hi, where I can get the source files of this game?

@doomdesiring
I don't know the procedure ThatTrueStruggle uses for this game but if it's anything like Fire Emblem Warriors, it must be a very time consuming process. I actually tried to rip from Fire Emblem Warriors and because the game uses Mesh Physics, it makes fixing the models really awkward and time-consuming.
Ripping the models isn't actually that hard, it's fixing them for people to use that's a nightmare. Again, I don't know if that's how it is for Hyrule Warriors but for Fire Emblem Warriors it's a real pain.

Ah, thank you for letting me know. I'll be sitting tight waiting for the models then. Wish I could help with porting these - unfortunately, I don't have a Switch to dump any files from.

ThatTrueStruggle is a member of the site staff so his uploads get instantly approved. I think right now it's just a matter of waiting for him to prepare them so they can be easy to use.

Hey, are we mostly just waiting for models to be approved? Would really love to see Volga, Cia, and Ghirahim here.

@8Fold I have not had much time to mess with Hyrule Warriors Models as I've been busy trying to work out how to properly rip Fire Emblem Warriors Models. If you do figure it out, please let me know.

@ninetales they're also different from the regular ganondorf model, and the modified "retro" models, so that's a bit of a hint? i thought it might be for the eyes but the texture seems too bizarre

@8fold It's cool man and yeah, I've been wondering what those textures are myself. I'm somewhat sure the "003" and "004" are something to do with getting that green light effect but how to apply them I've no clue.

@ninetales ...oh! i'm so sorry, i didn't mean to ignore your conversation and repeat it, i was pretty tired and skimmed through when i sent it

i got another question as well, i understand that it comes with a diffuse, normal and specular map, but what are the two images PNG files that come with it as well?
Avatar
Jul 28, 2018, 8:35 AM
@8fold Yeah, seems we're having the same problem.

sorry, but you were saying the textures should be properly assigned, but opening up ganondorf (specifically the wind waker robe one) it seems to only have the base texture, not the maps. i may be doing something wrong, though

speaking of, do you think you'll upload the battle maps as well?

I didn't realize that the models were so huge until a while in so I started scaling the models down on export

One question, why are all the bones in the middle of the mesh and the mesh so huge? Do I have to custom apply the bones myself to the mesh and shrink it myself, or was it an exporting glitch?

@mariosonic500 Mainly that some of the models are updated with alternate costumes as well as some of the Wii U models do not have rigging while all of these do.

@Ninetailscommander Thanks dude! I love the designs of a lot of the models in this game and I wanted to rip them for the longest but couldn't. Now that there are tools and I can get them with their rigs, I'm finally able to really get into it
