Wanna do so yourself? Grab yourself a copy of the XBox 360 version's (or PS3's) files, 3DS Max and use the *NO script that's in my Model Importers topic. It's not really hard at all.

I tried getting at Brendan, May, Red, and Leaf's models a few months ago. If I could have just gotten them to render, there's a program that can rip a rendered scene.

Sadly the only times their models are ever rendered is during multiplayer battles, and I failed to find an emulator that could simulate a multiplayer linked battle connection properly, so I had to give up... :[

I think low poly would be a more correct term for the model.

As there's no way you could get 128x128 textures outta a N64 game, it'd be 64x64 textures stacked with a lower colour count. Even then, that's a tad too much. It'd just be better to use a single 32x32 texture for the body and such. 64x64 is possible, but at a lower colour count.

Sorry for the elitism, but it ain't true N64 quality, and that's a tad misleading to put in the title.

Quick tip: if you really want to nail that Sega Saturn look, turn off (or at least as low as possible) the texture filtering, as the N64 was the only console of the generation capable of it. Also turn off the shading (if your 3D program of choice does not have a "shadeless" option like Blender, set diffuse/albedo and specular/reflective to zero, and set emissive to 100%). This is because the Sega Saturn was did not have the resources to have shading and run decently. Even on the Playstation, game developers like Naughty Dog and their gem Crash Bandicoot, tended towards the less hardware intensive flat shadeless polygons.

Only difference is that he isn't curling his stache, as I assume adding some fingers to the hands would have costed a tad too much polys.

Hello, sorry for the interruption but, I think we got a problem on The Model Resource.

It seems that almost all the 3d models of Digimon Linkz submitted to the Model Resource site contains the ASCII format rather than the binary format for their fbx files. That means unless you are opting to import the collada file or you have 3ds Max installed on your PC, you will have the hard time importing the fbx file as Blender doesn't supports ASCII fbx files natively, unless you have a third-party plugin installed.

This is the known issue for Unity Studio as it can only exports the models in ASCII fbx file format.

My suggestion here is that the entire Digimon Linkz model files will have to be re-submitted with the correct format for their fbx files.
